I turned a corner this year. Not an age, a knowing. Here is some of what I have learned. Not rules. Just things I no longer talk myself out of.
You have your own taste. It was always there. The work is trusting it, not finding it.
Buy the thing you will still want in ten years. You usually already know which one that is.
A good bag is not an outfit. It is the part of the outfit that is still yours when everything else changes.
Stop saving things for later. Later is a way of not living now.
The things you keep tell you who you are more honestly than the things you buy.
Quality is quiet. It does not announce itself, and it does not need you to explain it to anyone.
You can love something for years and still be the one who carries it differently each time.
I stopped apologising for caring about objects. The right ones hold a life. Mine do.
Made to become yours,
Aria
